Before applying, ensure you meet the general work permit eligibility criteria. Your employer must also complete several steps, including submitting an employment offer through the Employer Portal and paying the employer compliance fee.

Some religious leaders might be exempt from requiring a work permit under specific immigration provisions. However, opting for an LMIA exemption might be beneficial for those wishing to extend their stay or access certain government services.
