Qualifying Work Experience

Eligible work experience must be in one of three National Occupational Classification (NOC) categories: Managerial jobs (Skill Type 0), Professional jobs (Skill Level A), or Technical jobs and skilled trades (Skill Level B). This experience should be:

  • Relevant to your designated occupation (same NOC code)

  • Within the last 10 years

  • Paid employment (volunteer work or unpaid internships do not qualify)

  • At least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total, achievable through various employment arrangements

Language Proficiency

Proficiency in English or French is crucial. Candidates must take approved tests and achieve a minimum score equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in all four language skills (writing, reading, listening, and speaking). Test results must be included in your Express Entry profile.

Educational Requirements

If educated in Canada, you must hold a certificate, diploma, or degree from a recognized institution. Internationally educated applicants need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) proving that their foreign education is equivalent to that of a Canadian institution.

Once meeting the minimum requirements, your application will be assessed based on factors like age, education, work experience, valid job offer, language skills, and adaptability to life in Canada.
