The government of British Columbia announced on May 2, 2022, that the Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) Base category will reopen in July 2022 under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP).
The province will post an updated EI Base Program Guide in the upcoming weeks. New intake under the BCPNP EI Base category has temporarily been stopped since July 2021. As a result, all submitted applications have been processed during this period.
However, the province has left the Regional Pilot and the Strategic Projects categories open to accept applications from candidates interested in investing and opening a business in British Columbia.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program is an economic immigration program administered by the government of British Columbia’s Immigration Programs Branch.
This program allows the province to select and nominate foreign workers, international students, and entrepreneurs to help meet the labor market needs of B.C., support government priorities, and grow the province's economy.
