Canada will send mobile biometric kits to certain European countries to assist Ukrainians

The government of Canada has equipped immigration offices in Romania, Poland, and Austria with mobile biometric kits for taking fingerprints and portrait photos of Ukrainian refugees to help them meet the security and biometric requirements of the Canadian government and make it easier for them to travel to Canada.

Despite all the softened requirements for Ukrainian citizens, biometrics will still be a mandatory requirement and will have to be submitted to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) before the issuance of a visa. In 2022, Canada has already welcomed more than 8,500 Ukrainians.

Applicants are encouraged to continue using their existing pathways to arrive and are now able to include a keyword ("Ukraine2022) to ensure their applications are prioritized. IRCC has also announced two new programs to help Ukrainians in addition to its existing pathways.
