A new study published by World Education Services (WES) compares a series of surveys of individuals who planned to immigrate to Canada in August 2020 and August 2021.
Based on the analysis, interest in immigration to Canada remains high since the share of respondents indicating that the pandemic hasn't changed their immigration plans increased from 48.3% to 51.5%.
The respondents also anticipate a positive impact on the availability of jobs in their fields in Canada and are confident in the ability of the Canadian government and health care system to deal with the pandemic.
There was a significant increase in the number of interviewees who are interested in moving to a country other than Canada, despite the fact that the pandemic has not been a significant factor in delaying respondents' immigration plans.
