With the Immigration Levels Plan 2022-2024, Canada plans to accept the highest levels of immigration in its history.
There will be a significant increase in the Federal High Skilled category, which accommodates the applications of international graduates of Canadian institutions. The number of applications in this category will increase from 55,900 in 2022 to 111,500 in 2024, according to the Canadian government.
Canada currently accepts international students under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. However, starting from 2024, the number of applicants accepted under these programs will be increased at least twice.
The Immigration Levels Plan for 2022-2024 will cement Canada's position among the world's top destinations for talent, while reuniting family members with loved ones and fulfilling Canada's humanitarian obligations.
The levels plan is a projection of how many permanent residents will be admitted to Canada, as well as the targets and ranges for the total number of admissions. The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act requires the Minister to table the Levels Plan every year in Parliament.
