The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has opened the 2022 season for the International Experience Canada (IEC). This was announced by the government of Canada on January 13, 2022.
Currently, eligible candidates are able to submit their applications to one of the IEC pools including the Working Holiday, the Young Professionals, and the International Co-op. Starting January 15, 2022, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers will not be allowed to enter Canada. The first round of invitations was scheduled for today (January 14, 2022).
To be able to participate in the IEC program, your country or territory of citizenship must have an agreement with Canada or you may be able to use a recognized organization. Some countries only allow their citizens to participate once while others allow theirs to participate twice, but in different pools. It is important for you to check if you’re eligible to apply since each country is different.
The number of times you can participate is limited to what your country permits. So, you have to make sure you read and understand all the requirements before you submit an application.
Moreover, your dependants cannot come with you to Canada under the IEC program. However, they may apply to visit, study or work in Canada but they will review your application separately from theirs.
