New updates for International Experience Canada applications

New updates for International Experience Canada applications

The government of Canada published a new program delivery update regarding the International Experience Canada (IEC) applications on May 31, 2022.

According to the new instructions, candidates applying under the Young Professionals category are eligible to apply only if the job offer is in the applicant’s field of study and contributes to their professional development.

These instructions are also applicable to applicants who want to work in the agricultural industry. The Young Professionals category is for international applicants who want to work in Canada as part of a pre-arranged contract of employment in order to enhance their professional development.

To be considered professional experience, the job offered in Canada must be classified as National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill type level 0, A, or B. In order to participate or register, clients must create and submit an online IEC profile through their IRCC personal account.

Based on these profiles, a pool of eligible candidates is created for each country or territory and for each category.
