As of now, the processing time for Ontario’s Master’s Graduates and Ph.D. Graduates Streams, Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream, Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker, and Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream is 140-170 days. Processing times for Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, and Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream are 120-150 days. The processing time for Ontario’s The Expression of Interest (EOI) Assessment in the Entrepreneur Stream still requires less than 30 days, while the application processing depends on the complexity of the business nomination application.
Ontario’s Master’s Graduates and Ph.D. Graduates Streams
Ontario’s Master’s Graduates and Ph.D. Graduates Streams are part of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. The program is designed to help skilled workers who have graduated from a designated Canadian university or institution with a master’s degree or doctorate to immigrate to Ontario. To be eligible for this stream, employers must first submit a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) application to Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
If the LMIA is approved, the employer can then submit a nomination application to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The nomination application must include a job offer from the employer, as well as evidence that the prospective employee has the required skills and experience for the position.
If the application is approved, the prospective employee will then be able to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker
The employer job offer: foreign worker program is designed to help employers recruit foreign workers to Canada. This program allows employers to faster processing times for their Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications. To be eligible for this program, employers must meet certain criteria and the foreign worker must meet the requirements of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
If you are an employer who is interested in recruiting a foreign worker, the first step is to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria for the program. Once you have done this, you can then begin the process of applying for an LMIA. If you are successful, you will be able to bring foreign workers to Canada in a faster and simpler process.
You may be eligible for this program if you:
are a foreign national who has been working in Ontario for at least one year
have a valid work permit
have a full-time, permanent job offer from an Ontario employer in occupations eligible for the program
meet the language requirements of the job
have the required education, training, and/or work experience for the job
will earn at least the median wage for the occupation in the region of the province where you will work

have the skills, education and work experience to perform the job you have been offered
intend to live and work in Ontario
