Prince Edward Island’s Office of Immigration has launched a new stream to fill in-demand jobs and tackle the labour shortages in the province.
The new Occupations in Demand stream accepts applicants under four NOCs. These include:
In addition, all candidates must have a full-time, non-seasonal permanent job offer from a PEI employer, one year of work experience directly related to the job, at least a secondary school diploma, a valid language test result, and sufficient financial resources.
Applicants must also be 18 to 59 years old and demonstrate a genuine intention to settle in the province. You will receive an email notification that includes your file number and instructions for submitting your application if you are invited to apply. Also, you will need to submit the application forms after the invitation to apply. Your employer will also need to complete the employer forms as well.
Note that an expression of interest (EOI) is not an application, but an indication of your interest in being considered to apply to the PEI Workforce Category. However, the office reserves the right to limit intake or exclude candidates from expressions of interest draws.
