The government of Canada announced its help to Ukrainian nationals to come to Canada on May 11, 2022.
Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that three charter flights will be provided for Ukrainians and their family members.
Individuals who have been approved through the Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET) program will obtain flight tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. The flights will depart from Poland to Winnipeg on May 23, to Montreal on May 29, and to Halifax on June 2, 2022.
CUAET visa holders will be contacted by email with information on how to register in the coming days. People on these flights who do not have suitable accommodations will be provided temporary lodging for up to 14 nights once they arrive in Canada by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
As Ukrainians arrive in Canada, the government of Canada will continue to work closely with provinces and territories and settlement organizations across the country to implement these special measures and provide support.
