The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, announced on June 25, 2022 about the formation of a new task force to tackle growing delays in government services such as passports and airport operations.
The task force, which includes a group of federal ministers will look for main glitches in these services and offer recommendations to improve them. It will devote special attention to the processing of immigration applications with a specific focus on priority areas where intervention is required.
The goal is to develop long- and short-term solutions that eliminate backlogs while also improving service quality and speed. Due to labour shortages around the world, the task force will also monitor the situation at Canadian airports.
Also, the Canadian government is working hard to provide better services to Canadians daily. The Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada stated that,
"We know service delays, particularly in recent months, are unacceptable. We will continue to do everything we can to improve the delivery of these services in an efficient and timely manner, and this new task force will help guide the work of the government to better meet the changing needs of Canadians and continue to provide them with the high-quality services they need and deserve."
