Toronto Business Development Centre will deliver Ontario’s Entrepreneur Pilot

The Ontario government announced on April 19, 2022, that the Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC) will deliver the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program's (OINP) Entrepreneur Pilot program for two years.

The Pilot will help 100 immigrant entrepreneurs open businesses across Ontario outside of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and support certain regions of the province to recover from COVID‑19. The TBDC has already started working closely with the government of Ontario and the OINP to develop and launch the new pilot.

Through the current Entrepreneur Stream of the OINP, the province aims to attract $20 million in investment to help regions affected by the pandemic. This pilot program is intended to create jobs in areas such as information technology, biotechnology, and tourism.

The Ontario Entrepreneur Stream (OINP-EN) targets senior managers and business owners who are interested in starting a business in Ontario. In this stream, international entrepreneurs can be nominated for permanent residency once their companies have been established in a province.
